Photo Journal | Northumberland
The coast is always an inspiring spot to take my camera, no matter how bleak the day seems on arrival. The white noise of the constantly churning ocean gives me time to relax and zone out a bit. One of my favourite stretches of coast is in Northumberland, Northern England.
Oystercatchers, one of my favourite birds, are often spotted here – so it’s always a pleasure to capture their antics on the water’s edge. I love to pick my way along the beach looking for “treasures” left on the sand by the waves. The rugged weather conditions often experienced here make it feel rather untamed and chaotic at times, but you’ll always be guaranteed beautiful, clean and quiet beaches that stretch for miles if you pick the right spot.
