Behind The Scenes: Episode Seven – A Winter Welcome

Behind The Scenes: Episode Seven – A Winter Welcome

While we knew the seasons were rapidly changing it has still been hard trying to keep up with our never-ending job list that we wanted to get sorted before the winter. Over the last few months we have been constantly altering which jobs hold the most priority, but with regular autumn rain storms rolling through, work has constantly slowed down.

On top of that, with a dwindling budget, we are also faced with completing jobs only once we can afford to now. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't stressful. There's been a few moments where we've just sat down in silence not really sure if the whole venture has been a good idea, and if there will ever be a finish line in sight.

Choosing what to do and when to do it, while fitting it in around our jobs and general life can feel like a bit of a challenge some days. We are trying to do everything the right way, not the quickest. We only want to do the work once, and not cut corners, but this means everything is more expensive and is taking longer than we'd like. It gets a bit emotional some days!

Saying that, whenever we do achieve a job, we both stand there and say how glad we are we took the time to do it 'the right way'. I know life will keep getting easier as the renovation progresses and by the spring we'll be looking back at this period of our lives as if it were a bit of a fever dream.
